Dude, just think about it. Modern Warfare 2 is still full price at 40£ in my country when Bad Company 2 is 30£. That is like a 17$ difference. Modern Warfare is a very annoying game. It makes me rage more then anything because people seem to stab me from 10 feet away or shoot me 5 times without missing while they are sprinting and jumping and spinning at the same time.

It is a waste of money, it is just not worth it. You would have x2 more fun with Bad Company 2. There are more options, dedicated servers, less cheaters and more vehicles.

Just don't waste your money.

No actually you get decent guns on Bad Company 2 when you start. Take the M24 Sniper Rifle for example. That is the one of the best snipers you get in the game. Plus I only ever play Hardcore so no matter what gun you use you will get 1,2,3 shot kills easily. You can use a perk called MGNM Ammo ( Magnum Ammo ), it lets you kill anyone with taking 1 hit less.

You clearly don't know ANYTHING about Activision. Serious what level are you at -10?

"Wait a few month and buy MW3" .... That is a line of a retard. Go fucking research the Call of Duty series and their developers. Then go research Infinity Ward. They are the people that made the Modern Warfare series.

Know facts before you blab on....

Sorry I was drunk yesterday and a bit mean.

But anyway. What you need to know is that Activision has 2 developers making CoD games. Each year they swap around. Each year one of the 2 deveopers releases a new game. The 2 developers are Infinity Ward & Treyarch. This year it is Treyarch's turn. They will be releasing CoD: Black Ops in November. Then in 2011 it would have been Infinity Ward's turn.

But let me start here about Infinity Ward. Basically the bosses of IW made MW2 for Activision who published the game and when pay day came which was a few month ago Activision just did not give any money to them. So there was a huge battle, police got involved and the 2 bosses of IW quit making a new company called Repsawn. After they created that company already by now 80% of IW staff have left for that company so basically IW who make the Modern Warfare series have fallen apart. There is serious doubt they will make MW3 and they probably wont.

There although were recent news that Activision hired Bungie the people that made the Halo series to make games for them. And I reckon that Bungie is to make the new CoD: MW3 which would at the earliest 2011 November.

So yeah that is the story.

Ok this might be a long post but I have my areas I get info heres a few posts....

Activision May Permanently Close Infinity Ward
MAY 1ST, 2010 / 17 COMMENTS / BY JE
An analyst is predicting that Activision will close down Infinity Ward after the release of a second Modern Warfare 2 map pack. **Development on Modern Warfare 3 will be handled by two new studios.**
The game may be over for Infinity Ward. After two months of drama that daytime soap opera fans would find hard to accept, Activision may have just tactically nuked it right out of business.
Rarely has a more successful company crumbled as quickly as Infinity Ward. After releasing one of the best-selling video games of our time, a pair of firings quickly snowballed into legal warfare that pitted the former developer heads against the publisher. The courts soon became the venue of choice for both sides, but that became secondary to the battle over the future of the Modern Warfare franchise. A third entry is already underway, but the question of who would be left to make it rang with resonance as 28 of the 93 original IW employees have since left the developer after their bosses were fired in March.
Then yesterday the most recent bomb was dropped, and 38 current and former IW employees officially sued Activision, claiming that the publisher had withheld their contractually obligated bonuses in order to force them into working on the new Modern Warfare title. It now seems like that may have been the final straw, and Activision is allegedly making plans to close down *****Infinity Ward and push the development of Modern Warfare 3 off to two new studios.*****
CVG is reporting that Janco Partners industry analyst, Mike Hickey, has told investors to expect Activision to close down Infinity Ward as soon as a second Modern Warfare 2 map pack has been released. No info has been released on when the second map pack is due out (although rumors suggest mid-summer).
“Continued defections from their Infinity Ward studio have created meaningful uncertainty around the future of their Call of Duty: Modern Warfare franchise. A reported 26 developers have left the studio behind, with an original studio size of roughly 100,” Hickey told investors. “It was revealed yesterday that 38 Infinity Ward employees filed a lawsuit against Activision over royalties and alleges that they were held ‘hostage’.
“We expect Infinity Ward studio will be essentially closed after their next map pack release,” Hickey wrote, “with development work on Modern Warfare 3 spread between two studios not historically tied to the franchise.”
Activision has yet to comment. Although this is just one analyst’s advice to investors, with 28 employees having left the staff that was maxed out at 93, it seems not only possible, but likely that Infinity Ward will soon be a memory. No word yet on where the employees will end up, but if irony has a say in it, there is one company that is definitely looking to hire.

Next

UPDATE 2:53 PM: Activision has issued a brief response to the lawsuit:
“Activision believes the action is without merit,” said a company spokesperson over e-mail just moments ago. “Activision retains the discretion to determine the amount and the schedule of bonus payments for MW2 and has acted consistent with its rights and the law at all times. We look forward to getting judicial confirmation that our position is right.
ORIGINAL STORY: The other shoe has now dropped.
I’ve obtained a copy of a lawsuit filed this morning in the Los Angeles Superior Court by 38 plaintiffs, calling themselves the “Infinity Ward Employee Group,” against Activision. The Infinity Ward Employee Group (whom I’ll refer to as IWEG throughout the rest of this story) alleges breach of contract, breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, violation of California labor code and more. The group is after a large amount of unpaid royalties.
“Activision owes my clients approximately $75 million to $125 million dollars,” said Bruce Isaacs, one of the IWEG’s attorneys at Wyman & Isaacs LLP, over the phone this afternoon. ****“Activision has withheld most of the money to force many of my people to stay, some against their will, so that they would finish the delivery of Modern Warfare 3.**** That is not what they wanted to do. Many of them. My clients’ entitled to their money. Activision has no right to withhold their money — our money.”
The IWEG contains “a significant portion of the members of the creative team” who “designed, developed and delivered” Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to Activision. According to the lawsuit, $28 million has been delivered to Infinity Ward employees for bonuses related to Modern Warfare 2, but the suit alleges at least $54 million is still due from 2009 profits alone.
They want more than $54 million, however. The IWEG is looking “to recover between $75 million and $125 million, if not more, in compensatory damages.” That number’s derived from:
Unpaid bonuses from 2009 and 2010 sales generated by Modern Warfare 2 — fourth quarter 2009 and first quarter 2010, specifically.
Bonuses “due and owing to them” past first quarter 2010.
“Bonus/royalty/profit participation” related to “technology/engine” royalties, “other special performance bonuses,” “other studio bonuses” or “any other bonus/royalty/profit participation.”‘
Lost value on “restricted stock units” that Activision “promised” would vest (read: own it in your own name and purchase it from Activision) when Modern Warfare 2 sales eclipsed Modern Warfare 1, which “has long ago occurred.”
Money owed as it relates to Modern Warfare 2 “sister games, including but not limited to” the oft-mentioned Modern Warfare 3, “if Modern Warfare 3 is ultimately delivered and marketed.”
Interest rates related to the above sums of money.
The lawsuit focuses on royalties generated for Modern Warfare 2 following release and the agreement between Infinity Ward employees and Activision for receiving the subsequent bonuses. The IWEG contends the only condition for becoming eligible for said bonuses was delivering Modern Warfare 2 in time for the game’s intended November 10, 2009 launch. Modern Warfare 2 did launch as scheduled on November 10 last year, generating $1.1 billion in 2009.
Modern Warfare 3 has been mentioned during the legal back-and-forth between ex-Infinity Ward leadership Vince Zampella and Jason West and Activision, and it’s brought up again here, too.
The IWEG alleges Activision has “improperly withheld this specifically identifiable sum of money from the members of IWEG in order to force them to keep working for Activision so that Activision could receive delivery of Modern Warfare 3.” The suit alleges Activision “made a calculated, purposeful and malicious decision” to withhold proper bonuses “in an attempt to force employees of Infinity Ward to continue to work at a job that many of them did not want just so Activision could force them to complete the development, production and delivery of Modern Warfare 3.”
The legal language gets harsher, too.
“In short,” reads the lawsuit, “Activision withheld the property of the IWEG in an attempt to keep the employees hostage so that Activision could reap the benefit of the completion of Modern Warfare 3.”
What does the IWEG want in return? “At least in the additional amount of $75 million to $500 million as an award for punitive damages,” continues the lawsuit, citing a number calculated from the blockbuster sales of Modern Warfare 2 and “Activision’s net worth.”
The IWEG also believes Activision violated California Labor Code during their alleged failure of payment.
“Activision has a duty to pay all of the members of the IWEG all of the money they are owed [...] within 72 hours of the termination of their employment,” reads the lawsuit. “Activision, however, has failed to do so.”
The full list of plantiffs mentioned in the suit (not all of them have left Infinity Ward): Todd Alderman, Frank Gigliotti, Roger Abrahamsson, Brad Allen, Mohammad Alavi, Richard Baker, Chad Barb, Keith Bell, Chris Cherubini, Taihoon William Cho, Chris Dionne, Joel Emslie, Robert Field, Steve Fuduka, Robert Gaines, Chance Glasco, Preston Glenn, Joel Gompert, Chad Grenier, Mark Grigsby, John Haggerty, Jacob Michael Keating, Chris Lambert, Ryan Lastimosa, Fairfax S. McCandlish IV, Jason McCord, Brent Mcleod, John Paul Messerly, Stephen Miller, Zied Rieke, Jon Shiring, John Slayback, Richard Smith, Geoffery Smith, Jiesang Song, Todd Sue, Rayme C. Vinson and Lei Yang. All are represented by Wyman & Isaacs LLP located in Los Angeles.
Bold claims. I’ve reached out to Activision for comment.
Clearly, however, the drama involving Infinity Ward is far from over.
