HELP?

alright i have pc and its laggy all the time when i play css. (monitor is flatscreen but comp is old-ish and everything is stock)

what do i need to fix?

Well it depends. What is lagging? The game when you play it?

Maybe you are using too much Hard Drive space. Let me know how much Hard Drive space you have and how much you are using. You can try De-Fragmenting your computer. If you are using Windows 7 or Windows Vista open Start and type in search Disk Defragmenter. Then click the one at the top and defrag your Hard Drives.

It could be the case that you have a virus. Scan your computer with a good Anti-Virus.

Anyway you have to be more specific. If your computer starts lagging it could be your RAM. Press Ctrl+Alt+DEL and look at your processes tab. When you are in there print screen the page and upload it here so I can have a look.

Give some of your computer specifications to me too. Go into Start again and right click "Computer" or "My Computer" and click properties. print screen that too and upload it here.

Is it an FPS lag or is it just a slow internet??

If you dont know what your FPS is, type " net_graph3 " in console, and connect to a server, and tell me what your average FPS is (more or less)
If it is an FPS lag, its a little trickier to fix than a bad internet, you may have to lower your video quality, or tamper with some settings.

If its just a slow internet, an option is to switch providers, of course

Get a new computer

You're stuck with a single cored cpu whilst there are quad cores out there now...
For cs:s a dual core cpu would do
More ram ofcourse...
And bigger hdd's

No dude, don't buy a new Graphics Card start with RAM.

But your comp is so crappy its better to buy a new one. You really do need a good one. 1GB RAM is very bad anyway.

What's MG? also .99GB of ram, what the hell thats horrible
i would just get a 600 dollar laptop, most have dual core and atleast 2gigs of ram

okay, sorry how do i take screen shots ? and for a new comp i would only have about $200 because im getting a car.

You can't do much with 200$, save up some more, then your problem will be solved.

How to take screenshots: press printscreen, open paint, paste it (ctrl+v) and save it

I told ya, well ask some friend or someone in ur family to help u if u dont know anything, u can buy ram memory in pc stores or on ebay (same with graphic cards), but if u have the money you should just buy a new pc for like 1000$

Considering the age of his computer he needs to know wich ram to buy that is supported by his motherboard lol, its better to buy a new pc in his case tbh.
